Who can do this course? Anyone! No previous experience of Latin is required.
Is it difficult? Not necessarily, but it is a serious language course and obviously requires a certain commitment if you wish to learn and remember the material.
What does each lesson contain? Lessons cost 99 pence and are sent by email in PDF format. The lessons explain Latin grammar and syntax with clear tables and examples, and include a list of new vocabulary and a section of exercises for you to complete. A separate section of answers to the exercises is supplied with each lesson so that you can check your work. Passages for Translation

Are you studying Latin but would like some extra practice?
Are you wondering how to make use of the Latin you have learned?

Why not try one or more of these carefully selected passages from a Classical Roman author? Each passage for translation costs just £1.99 and for that price you will receive:- a passage of Latin (approx. 140 – 160 words); a vocabulary list of each word in the passage; feedback on your translation by email and answers to questions relating to the text (email support for 30 days from date of purchase). You can treat each passage as a traditional ‘unseen' translation (that is, without help from dictionaries etc), or you can refer to the attached vocabulary sheet for assistance. You can work at your own pace and if there is any section about which you are unsure, you can email questions to me. Upon receiving the translation from you, I shall respond with any corrections and suggestions for an improved translation. If you do make any mistakes, don't worry – if I can see why you have made a mistake I shall try to explain the error so that you can learn from it. Passages of Latin prose and verse will be sent alternately and I shall check that you do not receive duplicates. Passages are drawn from a range of Classical Latin authors to give you experience of translating different styles and subjects.
